Brow Lift

A brow lift, also known as a forehead lift, minimizes theBrow Lift creases that develop across the forehead or those that occur high on the bridge of the nose. With a brow lift, frown lines are improved and a low or sagging eyebrow can repositioned to give you the look that you are looking for.

Your doctor will examine you and determine if this procedure is right for you. You may qualify for a brow lift if you are

  • A non-smoker
  • You are physically healthy
  • You have a positive outlook and realistic goals in mind for the improvement of your appearance.

Before brow lift surgery, medications such as intravenous sedation or general anesthesia are administered for your comfort. A small incision is made within the hairline and special instruments are placed through the incisions so that the tissue and muscle beneath the skin can be repositioned, altered, or removed to correct creases and furrows in the forehead.

After correcting the tissue in the forehead, the incision is closed. Closing the incision can be done several ways including removable sutures, skin adhesives, surgical tape, or special clips. Your surgeon will use the incision closure technique that is right for you.

To minimize any swelling and bruising, your forehead may be taped and your head may be loosely wrapped. If there is any excess blood or fluid that may collect under the skin, a thin tube may be present. Your surgeon will give you instructions on how to heal and how to reduce potential infection. Every patient’s recovery time is different and your surgeon can answer specific questions about your individual recovery period.
