Contact Lenses

After an eye exam at DeLuca Vision Consultants, our Lyndhurst eye doctors will determine Contact Lensthe health of your eyes, the level of visual correction needed, and will be able to know whether or not contacts are right for you.

If you need contact lenses, contact lens fitting is needed your eye doctor will place several diagnostic or trial lenses on the eye. After several follow up visits over the course of the first few months after the contact lens fitting, if the lens is not harming or irritating the eyes and has given proper vision correction, the final contact lens prescription is determined.

Advancements in contact lenses have given patients exciting options in eye services including contacts that can change the appearance of your eye color, or contacts that are disposable and can be thrown in the trash each night.

Some of the different contact lenses include:

  • Daily Wear Soft Contact Lenses-Soft contact lenses are made of a soft polymer-plastic material combined with a percentage of water which increases comfort.
  • Colored Soft Contact Lenses- colored contact lenses are fun because you can change the appearance of your eye color but also may be quite practical for some.
  • Rigid Gas Permeable Hard Contact Lenses- Rigid gas permeable lenses are more rigid than soft contact lenses and therefore more durable and provides more comfort.
  • Toric Contact Lenses- Toric contact lenses are special lenses for people with astigmatism.
  • Bifocal Contact Lenses - Bifocal contact lenses are designed to give good vision to people who have presbyopia.
  • Corneal Reshaping Treatment- This contact lens can be used to reshape the cornea and ultimately improve vision.
